We are a small family-owned business based in the beautiful town of Nelson, BC! Our family shares an active and adventurous spirit, with a profound love for exploring the wonders of the great outdoors. We hiked about 1000km through the Himalayas in Nepal, and many more kilometers through mountains in Europe, China, and America. The addition of two little ones hasn't slowed us down.
Back in 2012, I designed my first sleeping bag for our next Himalayan adventure, where we had to rely only on ourselves and our gear. The Dhorpatan - Lower Dolpo Trek is set in an isolated and remote region and is nearly 400 km long. I yearned for a warm, high-quality, and lightweight sleeping bag that would perfectly accommodate my petite frame without adding any unnecessary weight or bulk. This ignited my determination to create one myself. Leveraging my extensive expertise in outdoor garment and equipment design, the first Shishka sleeping bag was created.
Nearly a decade later, the same passion for the outdoors inspired me to fill a void in the market by creating high-quality and lightweight sleeping bags for little ones and their parents. Our products offer high-end quality with thoughtful details, while retaining the simplicity, uncompromising quality, and function that you have come to expect with a Shishka sleeping bag.
At Shishka, we are committed to making products that would stand up to our own adventures which have taken us thousands of kilometers hiking, paddling, and climbing all over the world. Each of our products is strenuously tested in the real world for hundreds of hours before we deem them ready to be sold to our customers.
